Holt Workforce Management were first appointed as master vendor to Bedford Hospital NHS Trust in 2013 for the supply of locum doctors.  We have continued to work with the Trust over the last 7 years, enhancing our service provision to ensure numerous further benefits for the Trust.   We now provide our direct engagement model and bank/APP solution and have expanded our MV provision to include AHPs too.

The Challenge
Bedford is an acute district hospital with a small medical staffing team. When we were first appointed the hospital was trying to manage a large number of agency suppliers on their own and struggled to control rates and monitor compliance effectively.  As a small team this also meant they had limited resource left to focus on other areas such as revalidation, appraisals and rostering.  Since our initial appointment Bedford Hospital has now merged with Luton & Dunstable NHS Foundation Trust – now Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
